If your onstage question is about your platform or current events, you should have some idea of the topic and your opinion on it. Be prepared for a wide variety of questions. If the question is about your personal community service efforts, there’s no reason you shouldn’t nail it—look at onstage question as your opportunity to cement yourself as the winner in the judges’ eyes. Remember that there is no right or wrong answer. The judges want to see you can be just as comfortable answering one question on stage as you were in the interview room. On that note, time yourself. Twenty seconds is plenty of time to answer the question. Some pageant systems use a bell or sound to signal the end of twenty seconds, and this can be jarring if you’re in the middle of answering a question and might signal to the judges that you rambled a bit too long. Practice onstage question with someone else timing you so that you are familiar with the flow.
